Chris Sollart has been a full-time professional photographer for over 20 years. He is certified by the Professional Photographers of America and has won over 25 first place awards in photographic competitions, including Best Wedding Album, Best Wedding Image, and Best Wedding Candid. On his own, he has photographed over 600 weddings. He always strives to capture the natural lighting and appearance of a location; and, as a master of lighting techniques, he is always ready, on those occasions when nature isn’t cooperating, to "augment nature" with the professional lighting he always brings.
For over fifteen years, Chris had dreamed of falling in love with someone and having her want to be his partner in his work as well as in his life, but he had almost given up on the idea that he’d actually find this perfect partner. Then in 2000, he met Lori Stefano, and his dream was realized. Since Chris and Lori have been working together, the work has grown and blossomed into a more wonderful product than either of them had imagined. They are an incredible team. They strive to create unique images that not only tell the stories of families coming together but also convey the uniqueness of each guest and the individual experience of each wedding.
Chris: "I love the way Lori looks at things. She has her own unique vision, and she has inspired and tremendously influenced the way I take photos. And she has such a terrific sense of fun! She’s always making me, as well as our clients, laugh. And what she has brought to our work has transformed both the experience of your wedding day and the photos that come from it.
Lori has been Chris’s partner in photography and in life since 2000. In that time, she has photographed over 200 weddings. Her background of over eighteen years in theater, art, and design, as well as her love for photography, made her the perfect partner for Chris. The work now reflects their two very different ways of looking at things as well as a combined thirty years of technical expertise and artistic expression. Together they weave the full, rich, intimate story of your day, capturing all the personal moments and loving touches.
Lori: "I got my first camera when I was nine, and I used to make my little brother and my best friend pose for me! I always loved taking photographs and knew I had a good eye for composition. It was sort of kismet how I started working with Chris. He used to have an assistant who took a few photos but mostly had the odious task of carting all the equipment around. One day early in our relationship, Chris told me that his assistant was getting married and that Chris would be photographing the wedding . . . but who was going to assist him since his assistant would be on the other side of the camera?! He asked me if I’d like to help out . . . and the rest is history! (Now I take more photos than Chris does; and luckily for 5’2" me, he’s a sweetheart and never makes me lug all the equipment around!) Chris is a wonderful teacher, and he has taught me virtually everything I know about wedding photography. It’s been so much fun and such an enriching experience to learn and grow to the point where I have the ability to create wonderful photos for our clients. I never get tired of watching Chris, who is such a master artist. And his amazing eye for detail, lighting, and perspective never ceases to amaze and inspire me!"
In 2005, we went through the exciting (and sometimes stressful) process of getting married ourselves! Now we can relate to exactly what our clients are going through! It has completely transformed our experience of our client’s weddings!
